möchten (would like), wünschen (to wish)

From Old High German 'wellan', cognate with English 'will'. The '-st' is the standard 2nd person singular ('du') ending.

'Willst' is the 'du' (you, informal) form of 'wollen'. Remember the '-st' ending for 'du' forms, like in 'du bist' (you are) or 'du hast' (you have).
