Das ist Eichenholz. Daraus machen wir Möbel.

This is oak wood. We make furniture out of it.

Er hat gelogen. Daraus entstand ein großes Problem.

He lied. A big problem arose from that.

((to make sth.)) ((daraus)) to make sth. from/out of it. We make juice from it.

((to conclude sth.)) ((daraus)) to conclude sth. from that. What do you conclude from that?

Synonyms: deswegen (therefore), deshalb (that's why), daher (hence) (depending on context)

A combination of 'da' (there/that) + 'aus' (from/out of). Literally means 'from there' or 'out of that'.

Instead of saying 'aus es' or 'aus das' for things, you use 'daraus'. It's a useful connector.
