demonstrieren (to demonstrate), sich beschweren (to complain); Antonyms: zustimmen (to agree), akzeptieren (to accept)

From Latin 'protestari' (to declare publicly), from 'pro-' (forth, publicly) + 'testari' (to testify). It's a direct cognate of the English 'protest'.

It looks and sounds almost identical to the English word 'protest', making it very easy to remember. Just remember the German '-ieren' verb ending.
