anschauen (to look at), betrachten (to regard), erachten als (to deem as)

From the prefix 'an-' (at) + 'sehen' (to see). Very similar to 'anschauen', but with broader meanings.

Almost interchangeable with 'anschauen', but since 'sehen' can also mean 'to understand', it extends to the abstract meaning of 'to regard as'.
