sein (to be), liegen (to lie), sich aufhalten (to stay)

From the prefix `be-` and the verb `finden` (to find). Literally 'to find oneself', which evolved to mean 'to be located'.

Think of asking 'Where do you find yourself right now?' to mean 'Where are you located?'.
