Synonyms: (physical) rücken, verschieben; (emotional) rühren, berühren

From 'be-' prefix and 'Weg' (way, path). The idea is to set something on a path or way, hence 'to move'.

Remember it has a double meaning: to physically 'move' an object, and to emotionally 'move' a person.
